Mark Edward DeKoekkoek, age 54, of Kingwood, TX, passed away after a long battle with cancer on 12/10/22. Mark was born in Kalamazoo, MI, on May 6, 1968.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Kristin (Blind) DeKoekkoek and 2 sons, Ryan and Grant DeKoekkoek.
He is also survived by his parents, Edward and Ruth Ann DeKoekkoek (Wyma) of Grand Haven, MI, sisters, Lois Andrakowicz (Citrus Heights, CA), Deborah Smith (Charles Jr) of Kalamazoo, MI, Mary Louise Smith (Christopher) of Schoolcraft, MI, Faith Engel (Mark) of Grand Haven, MI, and 11 nieces and nephews.
Mark graduated from Grand Haven High School in 1986 and attended Michigan State University. He graduated with a B.A. in Criminal Justice in 1990. He spent his career as a Special Agent in the Federal Government's Homeland Security Department, where he served as a member of the SRT team. Mark spent his career protecting his family, friends and the public from harm.
The family is served by Darst Funeral Home, 796 Russell Palmer Road, Kingwood, TX. Visitation will be Friday, 12/17 from 5-7pm. The Funeral Mass will be Saturday, 12/18, at 11am at Strawbridge United Methodist Church, 5629 Kingwood Dr., Kingwood, TX. There will be a lunch reception following the service at the church. Memorial donations in memory of Mark can be made to the Strawbridge United Methodist Church in Kingwood, TX.
