Known better far and wide as Bill, He was a loving husband and father of four he was an avid Golfer, Western Collector, and Pianist (at least he tried).
He was role model and mentor to many throughout his years. He touched many lives from Jacksonville, Florida to Bisbee, Arizona. Even went international for a few years to Hong Kong.
Bill was one of those guys, when you hear people talk about those guys. The stand up, straight forward and to the point type guys. You know the John Wayne type. That was Bill. Respectful but not to be played with. He had grit and you knew it just by the way he walked and talked. He was so avid about the old west he named his two sons after some of his favorite characters. Brett after Brett Maverick, and Clint after Clint Eastwood. I often thought he was born at the wrong time. He loved his westerns and his six shooters. I believe if he had the option aside from playing Golf with the crew on Saturdays back in the day at The Pines, and now at the Crooked Tree Golf Course. He would have been happiest riding a horse through the hills of Arizona, with a Colt six shooter on his thigh and a Winchester rifle in his saddle.
He was a remarkable role model; he raised his kids with a stern lip and strong work ethic. He taught us honor and history and passed along his knowledge of firearms and life in general. He taught me to play golf and of course the proper etiquette to go along with it. He carried himself everywhere he went with dignity and respect. He was the type of man that would strike up a conversation with you and within a few minutes you felt like you knew him for 20 years. He could carry the conversation as he traveled the world and saw and experienced more than most. He was kind and beneath his rough and tough exterior he cared more than anyone knew. For many he was just Bill, the steadfast friend who was always willing to lend a hand or help. He enjoyed playing golf in the various tournaments and donating time and money to them. He would have his Gecko Investigation's sign up inevitably on a tee box in most of the tournaments. He enjoyed just being around the guys and talking shop. He looked forward to coffee with the crew as well, and of course the Romeo breakfast group. He enjoyed his Cadillac and his Corvettes, and let's not forget the Mercedes that he always wanted. Truthfully, I could write for hours about Bills life and his various adventures. He will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
